Anyone who knows me personally knows how much I dig the Batman.  Today has been like Batman Christmas for me.

R.I.P. Maurice Bernard Sendak.  1928-2012

  Legendary children’s author and illustrator Maurice Sendak has passed on this morning.  He suffered from a stroke Friday May 4th.  Complications led to the loss of Mr. Sendak.  He was 83 years of age.  

  Mr. Sendak inspired me at such a young age with the “Where the Wild Things are” book to pursue a career in illustration.  Mr. Sendak worked on over 70 books including “Mommy?” his first pop-up book in 2006.  While in its early stages I had the unique opportunity to work on “Mommy?” Doing concepts & recreations.  While ultimately I never landed the final book I still a wonderful experience. growing as an illustrator.  In a later post I will show some of what was created during that time.
